Residential & Commercial Window Tinting for Comfort, Privacy, and UV Protection
Residential window tinting involves applying a thin film to home windows to enhance privacy, reduce heat, block UV rays, and improve energy efficiency.
Window tint is typically applied on the inside of the glass to protect it from weather exposure and ensure longevity. There are some exceptions.
Yes, home window tinting reduces glare, blocks harmful UV rays, and lowers indoor temperatures, making your home more comfortable and energy-efficient.
We are obviously biased. While DIY window tinting may save money upfront, professional installation ensures a flawless finish, better performance, and durability all backed by a warranty.
The best tint depends on your needs. For heat reduction, solar window films work well. For privacy, highly reflective or opaque window films are ideal. For UV protection, opt for films with high UV-blocking capability.
This will depend on a few things like which residential window film you have selected. To create privacy you need to make the exterior more reflective, but not the inside. This means that people cannot see in as long as it is brighter outside than it is inside.
Yes, many privacy window films allow natural light to pass through while enhancing privacy. The exceptions would be opaque window films like whiteout and blackout.
One way window film for night time just does not exist like we wish it would. "One Way" films work when it is brighter outside compared to inside. Some unconventional solutions to this is to install exterior lighting that is always on when it gets dark. Many of our films create a day time effective one way mirror. Just not at night, sorry.
"Limo tint" is the nickname of a dark window film that is not too reflective. We carry two films that can achieve a room darkening effect without being overly reflective. We also carry deep dark films that block up to 92% of visible light creating a dramatic room darkening effect.
Yes, home window tinting helps keep your house cooler by blocking out a lot of the sun's heat. For example, some films can block over 70% of the sun's heat, meaning your rooms stay more comfortable, and your air conditioner doesn’t have to work as hard. It’s a simple way to save on energy bills and make your home more enjoyable, especially during hot days! Plus, it also protects your furniture and floors from sun damage.
Solar window films with high heat rejection rates are the best for reducing heat, such as reflective or dual-purpose films designed for energy efficiency.
Yes, our high-quality window tints block 99% of harmful UV rays, including both UVA and UVB rays. This comprehensive UV protection ensures that your interiors and occupants are safeguarded against the full spectrum of harmful ultraviolet light. UVA rays penetrate deeply, causing long-term damage like fading, while UVB rays are more intense and can cause immediate effects like sunburn. By blocking both, window tint provides excellent protection for your home or office.
Window tints reduce the intensity of sunlight, making your space more comfortable while still allowing natural light.
The installation time varies depending on the project size but typically takes a few to several hours for most homes.
No, you don’t need to clean your windows before we arrive. As part of the installation process, we clean the windows thoroughly to ensure the film adheres properly.
Yes, window film is safe for dual-pane glass. It’s specially designed to work without causing thermal stress.
Most of the films we carry are priced by square foot, but there are exceptions, such as small French pane windows, which are priced per pane instead. The cost also depends on the yield we can get from the sizes of your windows. On average, you can estimate costs being around $8.50 per square foot for professionally installed window film.
Yes, home window tinting is a valuable investment. Some studies have shown that you can recoup your costs in about three years through reduced energy bills. However, the return on investment can be immediate when considering the comfort and the solutions it provides for problem windows, such as reducing glare, improving privacy, or lowering indoor temperatures.
Installation costs depend on the type of tint and number and size of your windows. Residential and commercial window tinting prices are usually $8.50 per square foot. Please keep in mind there are multiple factors, but this can help you determine the budget for your project.
For cleaning tinted windows, I recommend using Sprayway glass cleaner and paper towels. Avoid using rags, as they might contain particles that could scratch the film. This ensures your window tint stays in pristine condition for years to come. DO NOT USE AMMONIA based window cleaning products like Windex. Ammonia is the product we use to remove window film.
Yes, window film can be removed without damaging the glass. Professional removal ensures the adhesive is fully cleaned. Most old films can be removed with a stainless steel blade and elbow grease. Some stubborn films require an ammonia based removing agent. Doing your own removal will not save you money if you plan to hire a professional window film installer.
You must be extremely careful. Use a flat stainless steel blade. Stainless steel is a softer metal that will not scratch your glass. Use a spray bottle with water and a blade and be very careful to keep your hands out of the line of fire. Or just give us a call. We can do removals only if needed.
Security films reinforce glass, making it more resistant to breakage and adding an extra layer of protection against intrusions. These films are thicker and when combined with a sealant they can be nearly impossible to get through. These can be good for glass part of entry ways.
Mirror window films create a reflective surface on the outside, providing privacy while reducing heat and glare during the daytime only.
Opaque films completely block visibility and light, ideal for areas requiring maximum privacy or room darkening.
If you are looking for true privacy, a frost white will provide that, but most solutions for privacy are a charcoal or silver like film with a highly reflective exterior.
